Twelve sleeps until I finally turn 18 years old! So in the spirit of good wine and good company (I don't actually like wine) I've been searching for a party outfit. I've created a wish list for my birthday so if you really want to buy me something feel free to chose from this list :D

I would also like to congratulate myself for the successful organisation of my brother's surprise party for his 16th birthday.

Future

The end of an era. The play has now finished and I'm pushed back down to earth where the evil creatures lurk. Pressuresaurus: the creature that doesn't leave your side constantly knawing at your ankles telling you to do something you really don't want to. Studyion: the creature that sits on your desk staring at you with it's unattractive eyes and breathing down your neck with that wretched breath, the stench that seems to seep from each page of your text books. And worst of all...Futureama-rex: that one evil creature which lurks in the darkness and jumps out unexpectedly grasping your weakened arm and shining light on your flaws, inflicting feelings of anxiety, pain and depression. Ever been attacked by these demons? I have found a solution! To temporarily relieve yourselves from these evils play the sweet and joyful sounds of Coby Grant, Lisa Mitchell and The Sundance Kids. Although it does not fight these creatures it kicks them up the butt for at least an hour in order for you to recover from their damage.
However, their enemy, the creature of the complete opposite nature which instills confidence in you...Mummybear! This creature preys on unhappiness, bringing out the confidence and pride within you that you thought had been drowned among tears and blotched by puffy eyelids, ensuring your success in life no matter what evil creatures fight you.

Speaking of success, what an unexpected success 'Much Ado About Nothing' was! Everything really came together at the very last minute! And I never thought I'd make friends liek the ones I have gained from this experience. And the compliments! My God! I never really thought of myself as an actress, I've always been the musician. Let me quote the year 8 kid who jumped in front of me on my way to class the other day, "Hey! You! You were really good in the play." WOO! Hahaha I've had various compliments and shit however that one really made me feel happy about myself. And sad that it is over and I have to keep doing stuff I hate. Boo. So, here I am rambling about my boring year 12 life and searching for interesting blogs instead of reading Frankenstein (a great piece of literature but...blaaaah blaaah blaaah blaaaah) or talking to my boyfriend. I wish I had a "look" to give you but I don't have time for those things, but here is a painting by Rupert Bunny created in 1892 (I think). It pleases me and makes me feel calm :)

As Seamus Heaney translated the opening sentence in the poem Beowulf, "So." The first performance (to annoying giggly year high school students) of Much Ado About Nothing was performed today. Besides a few "He says-no she-wait he says.." moments and complete remake of sentences it went OK. The costumes were fun! Juliet Bennie, my dear little friend has worked her butt off amidst the learning of lines as the co-leading role, tafe study and vce classes. She's done a fantabulous job of getting as many op shop clothes and taking them back in time to make them appear 1920's style. More photos shall follow I'm sure! I've also been a little bit too excited/eager to be 18 and began scanning baby pictures for my 18th birthday party slide show. Here is a few of my favourites from my younger years. Gotta say I'm a pretty cute kid. So wish me "break a leg" for the rest for this week juggling a folio deadlines, mid-year exam preparation and performances...oh god.

"Make-em-ups" is what my late american grandmother used to call it when we would play with make up and dress up when I was younger. Every now and again I like to play make-em-ups before I go to bed. I was playing with my hair deciding how I should do it for certain scenes in the school play. It turned out to look great! I also decided to pull out my winter school uniform socks and se how they look with various outfits. Turns out they make me look a bit taller! Which is fantastic!!! Ok, back to sketching (which is, believe it or not, art homework woop woop!)

Here is also a video that I made when I was bored one sunday afternoon. Song is 'Sunday Morning' by KOs.

Hello

Feels like it's been a while, my last post only got through now due to internet problems god damnit! But I'm here now and I'm feeling more uplifted than last week after seeing Fame again and watching the latest Glee episode which I missed out on last week (Australia get's it later unfortunately) I thought it would be very apropriate to put 'Hello Goodbye' at the beginning of my post. Also thought I'd post a poem I found on my computer that I wrote lat year. I forgot how much I love poetry :) This one was inspired by a novel called 'The Great Gatsby' by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Amazing, I highly recomend it. So this is my proof that I'm not all about ranting on about my life and posting pictures :D

As the sun is tucked in by a dark navy blue blanket
Covered in little silver lights, something occurs.
The moon, a god, watches the earth with a judicious eye,
Shining light upon those who are blinded.

Creatures of the day disappear into shiny boxes
And creatures of the night begin to fill the grey grid.
The light, changing, illuminates flickering faces
And I become absorbed, like a moth to a flame.

Spell bound by the tangible gaiety, I stare.
Colour, light and sounds are my ecstasy.
I am not sleep walking. I’m not even dreaming.
I’m bursting with uncontrollable life!

I am the City.
