Merry

I'm sure many people will be feeling Merry after seeing the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2010/2011. Although I don't believe it is their best show yet (mainly due to Miranda's absence) it is still a spectacularly inspiring show. Love your work.

I WANT LIST #4: Christmas edition.

I haven't been really into the christmas spirit this year. I think it's because of the whole "finished high school forever" thing that's made me distracted. I think the major factor is that we are so exposed to this American idealistic view that it is supposed to be held in Winter...and it's so sunny and hot here! But I have been putting alot of thought into presents and such. Not just for myself haha but on that note I have put some thought into what I may ask Santa for this year :)

Day 8: Home again :)

It has been a while blog world. And what a full-on few weeks it has been! Firstly I thought I must share with you some images from my Schoolies trip (an organised week of parties for those who have finished school). We travelled to Surfer's Paradise in QLD to enjoy our schoolies. The 8 of us enjoyed a day and a half of sunshine (before it became overcast), a trip to Wet'N'Wild and a hell of alot of dancing! There were plenty of ups and downs but it was overall a fun trip. Upon arrival back home it was rehearse, rehearse, REHEARSE! Presentation night went well where I sang 'I Know Where I've Been' for m last school performance. Then the next day I had an interview at RMIT University for the interior design course, which I found out today was a success. Everyday after that was practice for a wedding that a group of my fellow musicians were asked to perform at. All of this lead up to yesterday. The day that every final year high school student dreads...ATAR scores. Mine was not what I wanted, not what I needed. It seemed as if all of my efforts had gone to waste. But I was congratulated, sympathised and verbally slapped in the face to the realisation that I can't change it and in a year's time it won't even matter. And now I sit here with a blocked nose, scratchy throat and light head, reading, writing and viewing whilst the sun shines brightly within the clear sky. Bugger.

Pencils

I think it would be an awesome job to be an illustrator. I've been thinking alot about my university applications and what I might end up studying next year. Of course my first preference is Communication design but I'm feeling overly confident about how my ATAR (final exam score) might turn out. Then my next preference is Visual Arts. After reviewing the course handbook and so on I think I would just love undertaking that course and focusing on illustration! I wish I could say these were mine but they are not :( they are Kelly Smith's amazing drawings.

Another one of my preferences is Interior Design so I whipped up this beauty within about 8 hours to hand in as my application. The theme was "Things were not as they seemed" so I went with the idea that everything is hidden in the walls, ceiling and floor so when packed up it looks like an empty room. We had to chose whether it was a space for working, thinking, sitting etc. and I chose to make it a working space for a small restaurant or cafe. And of course the retro style looks pretty awesome.

FREEDOM

My final exam was followed by a huge clean up of my bedroom, watching Northanger Abbey (a Jane Austen book-gone-movie), drinks with some friends and finally sitting down to read Yen. magazine. I would like to share with you my new artist discoveries in Yen. and assure you that I will be doing some art myself as well as a few photo shoots etc...
