Overwhelmed

I'm sunburnt, my eyes hurt, I've had knees to the head, had my feet constantly jumped on and had enough armpits to the face to me dizzy from b.o...boot camp right? WRONG! Big Day Out. Happy Australia Day everyone! Hope yours has been good because I feeling really overwhelmed and unhappy right now. Big Day Out is supposed to be the greatest and most fun music festival to hit Australia, massive lineup. So why did I come pushing out of the moshpit for Dizzy Rascal crying? After seeing Temper Trap where I had creepy men grabbing me and a girl on the shoulders of the guy behind me kneeing me in the head I realised that moshpits are not safe for small people. Then in Dizzy Rascal when I was practically being jumped on by a really tall guy and wasted girls were falling all over each other I became a little overwhelmed. Don't get me wrong Big Day Out is a fantastic all round performance but it wasn't for me. I practically didn't know any songs so I couldn't get into it. HOT TIP: research the artists first!!!

The first half of the day was good though, when there weren't as many people pushing me to walk past when they could have walked around me. Miami Horrors were pretty good. And Silent disco was heaps of fun but SSSOOOOOOO HHHOOOTTTT!!!! Very funny. I took some photos on my $7 disposable camera so when they are developed I'll scan them.

Good-Bye

I love drunk text messages, especially when they are from a close friend who actually means what they write hahahaa
Last night went very well. A great way to split up work and boring home life. I've cleaned up most of the streamers and bottle caps. Bit emotional being the last "thing" I'll have in this house, and my greatest friend Amy was sick and had to miss out when she practically lives here. Stayed up til 4am withe the last of the guests who were not fit enough to drive home...bad idea when you have a 7 hour shift at work the next day. I'M SO TIRED!

So here's what I wore last night.

'Is it possible disdain should die hath she meet such food to feed it as signor Benedick? Courtesy itself would convert to disdain if you come in her presence.' Woohoo! Memorised a few lines in the play...just HEAPS more to go. Time moves on as slowly or as quickly as we make it. These holidays I've made go very slowly. Avoiding learning my lines to the school play, Much Ado About Nothing, has made me panic a little. I'm playing the part of Beatrice whose every second line I've translated to "boys stink!". Although I have read over my lines a couple of times and translated most of them I found it hard to memorise the lines without actually acting out the scene. There for, this reason I've given myself for not learning them has limited just one of the things I was required to do over the two months of holidays. It's not the end of the holidays yet of course! But school is drawing nearer which means I kind of have to get my head together soon. I'm now in year 12!

Today I went to Eastland. Just to check it out since We'll be moving closer soon. I'm quite delighted to say they have GENERAL PANTS CO.!!! Prices are a bit expensive but everything is so cool!!! I bought two Agent Ninetynine tops for $50! I'll post pictures of me wearing them soon. I'm wearing one tonight when my friends come over for the last gathering at my place before we move (sadness) and another for the BIG DAY OUT! But for now here is a picture of me wearing what I wore to the shops today.

Yesterday Gemma and I saw 'Bran Nue Dae' ...yeah turns out it was a musical. Wasn't a very brilliant Aussie film but fun. Although the main dude was a very good singer he lacked in he acting skills, Missy Higgins should stick to music and Jessica Mauboy did a pretty good job for her first film. A round of applause however for Geoffrey Rush, Ernie Dingo and the guy who played the German man. All round, 2 stars.

3 sleeps until Nick comes home
6 sleeps until Big Day Out

Wombat

I was watching Today Tonight on TV last night. They had a report on a "derogatory" printed singlet found in a small t-shirt shop owned by a young woman (probably early 20s). First of all, the reporter dude interviewing the owner kept asking her questions like "Would you buy this singlet?" or "but isn't this offensive?" DUH!!! Of course she would say she would buy it and she isn't going to say "Yes this is an offensive singlet." because she wants people to find it appealing and SELL SELL SELL! I hate it when the reporters are obviously one-sided, although that's probably what they're told they ask the stupidest questions with the rudest attitudes sometimes! Secondly, when they made her brother wear the singlet and ask if it was offensive only women and men with children said that it was. All the younger men said it was cool and they would wear it. This is because it was made appealing to an audience of young men in order to SELL!!!! Not be worn by everybody. What disgusts me is those singlets you find in Supre during Christmas time saying something along the lines of "I've been very naughty" in sizes only 11 year olds will fit. Here's a picture of the singlet, I wouldn't wear it because it's not made for my taste, it's made to sell to the desired audience only.

*Harmonica tune* we're sitting at the bus stop *harmonica tune* in the bush of Mitcham *harmonica tune* there goes a Wombat...so that's how our song went as Gemma, Amy and I waited at the bus stop. I decided I should do something with my day on Thursday so I called up the girls and we went on an adventure to my the house I'll move into in February, it has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and my bedroom is the biggest room in the house SO EXCITED. I was really curious as to how to get there via public transport. SO EASY! Then when we came back to Box Hill we met up with Jacinta then bumped into Paul, Jono and Scott who all ended coming back to my place and playing Mario Kart whilst eating cereal with a ladle. Then the working weekends began. Lots of hours=money...if I don't spend it too quickly. What I've decided to either make or buy is high-waisted floral shorts!! Anyway, there's my rant, there's my Thursday (Friday was just work, exercise and sleep) and here is the outfit I wore Wednesday night.

Microphone

My ears are still ringing. Didn't realise how intense 'I bet that you look good on the dance floor' is to learn! Needless too say my wrists hurt a bit too. So that is one song down for the next gig if we get one. We call ourselves "The Sunday Room" and we are just a bunch of teenage kids who gather with instruments and play whatever we want. We don't necessarily get proper gigs but our first one was Lisa, our lead singer's netball presentation night. We had so much fun. Amy (a different one) on guitar, Danny (my brother) on lead guitar, Guy on bass and me on drums. We quickly got together 10 songs ranging from 'Smells like Teen Spirit' to 'Waking up in Vegas'. Our next gig was at the football club that my brother plays for. We played with another band whose lead guitarist is a close friend of mine, Aaron. He is AMAZING! I call him a young Jimi Hendrix.
I enjoy playing as a group but I think I like singing the most. That's why when it was quite and everyone had left I crawled out to the studio/back room and had a sing-along by myself. Still need to practice guitar though, my skills aren't improving :S but they will!
I've also just downloaded 'No More' by Cassie Davis. I never really liked her music but this song is just so catchy and fun to sing along to!

So there's a party tonight with my boyfriends friends. I thought it'd be a bit weird if I went without him but he said I should go. SKYPE IS THE GREATEST by the way. So I'll chuck on an outfit that I've been thinking of later and go as the representative of Nick Fry who is currently in Singapore. I'll post a pic of my outfit tomorrow :) I also have Twitter, my twitter name is epatience.

Also, here's a video of Lisa, Danny, Myself, Our music teacher and Ayumu! An exchange student from Japan who we miss already!! He is so talented!!

Card

Catching up with old friends can be quite therapeutic. You know the ones who seem the closest, drift a little them come back right when you need it. I haven't had a good hearty chat about life to anyone in a while so it was great to speak to my friend Amy today whilst she played with my new camera. During school time I find my drawing and crafty things sooth my mind, when you've had a complete day of people talking to and at you (like my borther who tells me facts about things I've never heard of or take interest in). Quiet time is lovely but I've had such a quite time for so long!!
I made a card the other day. It is the sihlouette of a dancer in black marker with a piece of lace as the skirt, beads as a headband and pearl stick-ons on the shoes.

Tomorrow "the band people, as I call them when I'm too lazy to explain, are coming to jam and hopefully learn some new songs. However I'm not in the mood. I love music very very very much don't get me wrong (I am the music captain for 2010 at school) but CAN'T BE BOTHERED!!! I'm sure as soon as I start I will enjoy it though. I will be sure to post lyrics and things as I go this year, and I'll definitely give you the link to my myspace page as soon as I update it, make it more attractive and stuff. Maybe put a new song on.

Anyhoo, time for ice cream with sprinkles I think. Great for beating the boyfriend blues (or missing boyfriend blue).

Start

When I purposely eliminate the longing to do anything I usually do, just for a break, I find that...I have nothing to do. My usual past-times include song writing, facebook, drawing and boyfriend. You see I didn't do so well in music class last year, so I haven't picked up my drumsticks since my last performance. Facebook bores me as all my friends are away which means there aren't any interesting weekend photos to geez at, only constant posts by the people I don't know about things I don't care about. Motivation has been sucked from me whilst the boyfriend is over seas, I think this is because my passion and happiness is really brought out in him (gag), meaning I'm in creative drought. Don't get me wrong my friends also bring such feeling but my motives and longing are temporarily missing so I don't make an effort. That is sad. Alas! As my mind kicks back into gear, with the ending of holidays, long work shifts and the boyfriend's trip I will put down the playstation3 controller and blog my stuffs and stuffs.

Welcome to what I wish to be my thought centre and creative expression page. God I sound like a hippy drama teacher, "find your centre...express your thoughts...let your mind go...ramble ramble ramble!" This is my blog. This is what I see. This is what I think. My Life and Lights.

Ready, Set, Go.

P.S. My favourite colour is Yellow, season is Winter and website is LookBook. Bye.
