"Make-em-ups" is what my late american grandmother used to call it when we would play with make up and dress up when I was younger. Every now and again I like to play make-em-ups before I go to bed. I was playing with my hair deciding how I should do it for certain scenes in the school play. It turned out to look great! I also decided to pull out my winter school uniform socks and se how they look with various outfits. Turns out they make me look a bit taller! Which is fantastic!!! Ok, back to sketching (which is, believe it or not, art homework woop woop!)

Here is also a video that I made when I was bored one sunday afternoon. Song is 'Sunday Morning' by KOs.

Hello

Feels like it's been a while, my last post only got through now due to internet problems god damnit! But I'm here now and I'm feeling more uplifted than last week after seeing Fame again and watching the latest Glee episode which I missed out on last week (Australia get's it later unfortunately) I thought it would be very apropriate to put 'Hello Goodbye' at the beginning of my post. Also thought I'd post a poem I found on my computer that I wrote lat year. I forgot how much I love poetry :) This one was inspired by a novel called 'The Great Gatsby' by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Amazing, I highly recomend it. So this is my proof that I'm not all about ranting on about my life and posting pictures :D

As the sun is tucked in by a dark navy blue blanket
Covered in little silver lights, something occurs.
The moon, a god, watches the earth with a judicious eye,
Shining light upon those who are blinded.

Creatures of the day disappear into shiny boxes
And creatures of the night begin to fill the grey grid.
The light, changing, illuminates flickering faces
And I become absorbed, like a moth to a flame.

Spell bound by the tangible gaiety, I stare.
Colour, light and sounds are my ecstasy.
I am not sleep walking. I’m not even dreaming.
I’m bursting with uncontrollable life!

I am the City.

Rendezvous

The past week or so has seen out misunderstandings, a Kelly Clarkson concert, SACs, a rolled ankle, Fame the musical, birthdays, an 18th Birthday party, a 1st Birthday party and a night in the city. Needless to say they were followed by blood, sweat and plenty of tears. Have you ever played a game called Chuzzle? Look it up so this anecdote makes sense. The object of the game is to line up coloured fuzzy critters and win points, but the fun of the game is to tickle the critters until they explode. That's how I felt. I've been clicked and clicked and clicked until it has finally made me explode! I seemed to be handling/juggling everything so well right up until I rolled my ankle. It didn't hurt so much but I cried...and cried and cried and didn't stop until I was home. It was just that one last click that made me pop. The recovery methods however have been good. The nurses advice: "48 hours without thinking about school or picking up study." ...I took 72 hours. Song and dance, cakes and chocolate and a lovely night in Melbourne spent at the Rendezvou hotel with my fantastically tolerant boyfriend Nick.

Queen

Life becomes so much more relaxed when you realise the things that make you happy. Like this song. My singing teacher came back from Europe this week so I was happy, now I'm learning this powerful ballad from the musical Hairspray, 'I know where I've been'

This picture from the blog Gary Pepper Vintage also makes me happy. Perhaps it's the clear sky, warm light and sick-as 50s style bikini.

Disco

"That's the way ahuh ahuh he likes it ahuh ahuh" My very last school athletics carnival is coming up in two weeks which means...DRESS UP TIME!!!! I've decided to dress up as a 70's Disco chick. However, I do not have access to skates, or any skill in skating at all. I've always really really wanted to do dress up in gold hot pants and knee high socks so here's my chance!

Also here's a photo by/of Clara Jurek for your viewing pleasure :)

French

So when my brother was explaining that one of his friends from France lived in a castle I was intrigued. He showed me photos of the house and others. This is where I discovered the beautiful photos of Charlie Vinchant. I fell in love instantly with her photogenic face and the artistic photography by her friend Clara Jurek. Magnifique!

Y

I am so sick of older women (aged between 35 and 45) thinking that young women are stupid. It seems as if they no more than we do because they are older. At the Zoo a woman accused my friends and I for cutting in the line to see the baby elephant. We were standing here for approximately 2 minutes and she said "These people are being very rude cutting in." So I turned around and apologised and asked which way we were supposed to go, she then said, almost spitting on me, "Then go back!" This made me extremely mad and to top it off another woman remarked "That's generation Y for you!" Generation Y is a category of aged people not a stereotype! It seems that is exactly what it has become, a stereotype! Today at work a woman asked to order some food after closing, I had to tell her the machines were off so they would have to order alternate foods and she continued to argue with me. It wasn't just what she said but how she said it and the way she looked at me, as if I was an insignificant girl who she could push around and manipulate into doing something she demanded. This is not fair. It is the young women of this generation who will soon be running everything that you know of! Give us a break, we do the best we can and if older women, or anyone else for that matter has a problem I'm sure you can talk to us calmly. And I ask of you, talk to us equally, we live in the same world.

On another note, here are some photos from my photoshoot for my visual communications and design unit 3. I'm designing a teapot with an asian theme. To see more visit my flickr! http://www.flickr.com/photos/48723998@N08/ or search E Patience or ellypatience. And thank you to Ashlee M for being my beautiful model and the bf Nick F for being my lighting director :)

P.S. stay tuned for some awesome pictures by some gorgeous young french girls!!!!

A trip to the Zoo is always ane exciting idea. So when I had to go to the Zoo to take photos for my art project it was a bonus! Here are some pictures from the day. These aren't the ones that I will use in my art project but I'll be sure to post picture sof my art project hopefully during and when it's complete. Very excited!
